You are nanny, mommy, and employee—at the same exact time. It’s a constant tug-of-war.
Let’s not forget how inconsiderate co-workers can be. Don’t they know I’m barely staying above water? Instead, other WFH co-workers deem it acceptable to schedule late-late day meetings. If I were in an office, my day would likely end at 4:00 or 5:00 p.m., and if someone scheduled a meeting at 5:30 p.m., I’d simply decline—and that would be totally acceptable. Life is different when you’re working from home.
